Hi
this one is sure to get your blood boiling!!!
we have a privately owned grass verged attached to our property in croydon, the road was formally private but has been adopted by the council for a number of years.
Although the council maintain the verges, they do not own them. imagine my suprise when an enforcemnt officer ticketed me for parking on it. I immediately wrote to the council and had a standard letter back rejecting my excuse saying that it was part of a public footway and carrageway and not taking any of my argument into account.
I waited for the noticed to owner then appealed by recorded letter, that was a month ago. i have not recieved a notice of rejection or anything of the sort. then a few days ago i recieved a demand increasing the charge to £180!!
it seems as if they have ignored my letter although i have proof of delivery. What should be my next step....write another letter for them to ignore or approach them by email or telephone.
any help would be appreciated, Thanks
Raz
