Ealing Times A COUNCILLOR has apologised after it was revealed officials knew six box junctions were unlawful five months before they were removed. Councillor Phil Taylor gave the “unreserved apology” after it was revealed a council official was told by email in June by the Department for Transport (DfT) the six box junctions were too big.
The Shields Gazette By David MacLean COUNCIL chiefs won't have to pay back thousands of pounds in parking fines after a loading bay blunder. South Tyneside Council suspended issuing penalty charge notices (PCNs) on all 45 of its loading bays in June after the Department for Transport said five of the bays were too small. Four bays in Market Place, South Shields, and one at the end of Smithy Street, next to Argos, were found to be 20cm too narrow and have been remarked.
