Huddersfield Daily Examiner by nick lavigueur A PARKING campaign group has accused Kirklees Council of catching motorists with unlawful parking fines. The claim comes after a Kirklees Council document, released under Freedom of Information (FOI) legislation, showed almost 100 parking zones in the district fail to comply with the law.

On the one side is a parking campaign group which says Kirklees Council is hitting motorists in some areas with illegal parking fines, on the other are the council themselves who say that as soon as they know parking zones are not compliant with the regulations they are out within days to put it right.

A new audit of Parkwise, which controls parking enforcement in Lancashire, has revealed the true extent of its debts.
