'Metric martyr' Neil Herron is launching a landmark legal challenge over the use of parking tickets as a 'stealth tax'. 
If he is successful, drivers could demand the return of hundreds of millions of pounds of penalties for parking on single yellow lines.
Mr Herron - who led the campaign to stop the prosecution of British shopkeepers still using imperial measurements - has remortgaged his home to take on the parking industry.

As usual, there are several very worthy suggestions for the monthly award of “Cavalier of the month”. It was a difficult choice. Worms are definitely turning and, having turned, are hitting back at mindless bureaucracy with all the ferocity that a really angry worm can muster. 
However, we eventually decided on presenting the award to a worthy recipient who epitomises the sort of attitude that we wholeheartedly commend: Mr Neil Herron.
