Finally, in June 2009 permission was granted by Justice Keith on the Controlled Parking Zone, lines and signs point ... and the case has massive implications for millions of motorists.
Lord Lucas, Tom Conti and others set up The Motorists Legal Challenge Fund to assist with fundraising and is now supported by the London Motorists Action Group, Drivers Alliance, the AA, the Association of British Drivers and a number of other groups and organisations. Neil Herron has personally committed over £80,000 to the case to date to ensure that this matter gets before the High Court and the Fund's supporters and backers have also contributed over £30,000 including very generous donations from Tom Conti, Lord Lucas and the Licensed Taxi Drivers Association (LTDA) and London Cab Drivers Club (LCDC) and a number of individuals.
IT IS ESSENTIAL THAT MOTORISTS, BUSINESSES AND COMMERCIAL FLEETS RALLY BEHIND THE MAN WHO HAS OUT EVERYTHING ON THE LINE TO EXPOSE WHAT HAS BECOME A LAWLESS, UNREGULATED, OUT OF CONTROL 'CASH COW' RATHER THAN FAIR, JUST AND PROPORTIONATE MANAGEMENT OF KERB SPACE.
The David v Goliath parking ticket case is listed for 18th and 19th May.and for the first time a challenge to this lawless, unaccountable out of control system which has expanded massively under the Labour Government is before the High Court. It is hoped that the judiciary will restor the legal checks and balances. It should not be down to one man to put his home on the line to access justice. He is supported by Barrister Rupert Bowers and Solicitor Franklin Price, a member of the London Motorists Action Group.
Neil Herron has been involved with a number of national TV programmes exposing parking enforcement illegalities and the mood amongst Britain's motorists, fleet operators and businesses is that we need to bring an end to what is perceived by the vast majority as a stealth tax which is having a detrimental affect on motorists and businesses alike. Everyone understands the need for parking enforcement, and the various groups have also produced the Manifesto on Parking Enforcement Reform to ensure that a fair system is restored.

There is a great deal of support out there which needs to be mobilised with one concerted effort and the full weight thrown behind the Motorists Legal Challenge Fund to ensure we create the 'Equality of Arms' that the ordinary man is denied.
Perhaps London cabbie Grant Davies sums up the mood in true Brit fashion
